For over 100 years, the VFW Auxiliary organization has united Americans with a common purpose: to serve the veterans of this country and our communities in honor of the sacrifices and commitment of every man and woman who has served in uniform.

Frisco VFW Post 8273 and its Auxiliary are joining the Frisco RoughRiders for the inaugural debut of OPERATION DUCK: the first 'official' duck race in Frisco, Texas, benefiting military service members, veterans, their families, and the local community. While we can never truly repay the debt we owe our heroes, we are determined to show our brave veterans the continued support and gratitude for their commitment to our way of life.

We Make It Happen!

The Frisco VFW Auxiliary was just getting started when the pandemic  hit our country. The organization persevered, growing its membership by 143% while finding ways to support veterans, their families, and our community. Together our members make a difference with support efforts, which benefits others in so many ways. To our continued success, we thank all who support this amazing organization, especially our Frisco VFW Post 8273! 


Our members are awesome! Here are just some of our 2020-2021 efforts: 


  • Honored U.S. fallen veterans at Memorial Day Ceremony - Frisco Commons.
  • Shopped for and delivered groceries and necessities to elderly throughout COVID pandemic. 
  • Assisted veterans with childcare, transportation to medical appointments, and household maintenance.
  • Displayed Patriotism through the streets of Frisco by participating in monthly VFW rucks to honor all veterans while observing patriotic holidays and remembering our fallen:  WWII D-Day Observance, Independence Day, 9-11 Patriot's Day, POW/MIA Remembrance, Vietnam Veterans Peace Accord, etc. 
  • Quickly raised funds to help a displaced Veteran-family in need of food and urgent supplies after a tragic house fire. 
  • Donated to Frisco Family Services, and educated children on Patriotism and the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • Distributed U.S. flags to 4th of July event participants in support of Americanism.
  • Raised hundreds of dollars for Veterans & Family support at the Purple Heart Heroes event - Frisco Rail Yard.
  • Worked with VFW Post to organize a 'Uniting to Combat Hunger' food-drive, donating hundreds in food and toiletries to Frisco Food Pantry. 
  • Created a Frisco VFW Auxiliary 'Star Support Program' to support Blue Star, Gold Star and White Star families.
  • Raised awareness of PTSD and Suicide and shared resourceful information online.
  • Supported legislative efforts in "Get out to Vote!" Distributed voting registration and locations.
  • Helped assemble 100K poppies, raising $1K to support the Relief Fund. 
  • Raised hundreds of dollars at fundraising events for Veterans and Family Support..
  • Participated in Collin College Veterans Day and veteran birthday drive-by parades.
  • Organized a North Frisco Toys for Tots toy-drive for children in need, also worked a drive-by collection event.
  • Adopted-a-family in need, providing new clothes, shoes, coats, and toys for Christmas.
  • Helped support Patriot's Pen, Voice of Democracy, and Nursing scholarship programs.
  • Sent veterans cards to celebrate milestone birthdays, encourage get-wells, and share condolences.  
  • Traveled hundreds of miles to help pack/move veterans homes.
  • Created and distributed marketing materials for veteran fundraising events.
  • Worked event to support Frisco VFW Motorcycle Group, resulting in thousand$ for scholarships, veterans causes, and more.
  • Donated funds to Buddy Poppy National Home for Children. 
  • Worked guest table at the City of Frisco Mayor's Social event.
  • Attended Frisco VFW Gold Star Families Day recognition event.
  • Participated in Wreaths Across America event at DFW National Cemetery laying wreaths on graves to honor veterans. 
  • Auxiliary members purchased and displayed #UnitedWeStand signs throughout Frisco to support Americanism and Frisco VFW's relief effort to "support local business".
  • Assisted the Frisco Post 8273 with the Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Ceremony with Honored Guest, Medal of Honor Recipient MajGen James E. Livingston, MOH, USMC, (Ret.)
  • Held Community Outreach March Madness Food-Drive collecting $1400+ in food, toiletries and supplies for the Frisco Family Services Food Pantry.
  • In support of Patriotism through Literacy, held a patriotic book-drive distributing hundreds in books to Frisco ISD elementary schoolteachers and a library.
  • For Youth scholarships and prizes, we hosted  Illustrating America art contest for grades 1-8; Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest for grades 9-12; and a Get Excited for the Red, White and Blue National Anthem singing competition for ages 6-16. The 2021 local 1st  place winners will advance to the State of Texas competition!

Interested in helping support our veterans, active military, and their families? 

We have a very dynamic, active group of American women and men from all different backgrounds with various talents who make up Frisco VFW Auxiliary 8273.  We invite you to JOIN US!


VFW Auxiliary Eligibility

 

  • US Citizen or US National
  • 16 Years of Age or Older
  • You are a Husband/Wife, Widow/Widower, Father/Mother, Grandfather/Grandmother, Son/Daughter, Grandson/Granddaughter, or Brother/Sister of a person eligible for a VFW Membership, which includes: US Citizen or US National Honorable Service (Honorable Discharge, General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions) or Currently Serving; has served in a war, campaign, or expedition on foreign soil or in hostile waters.
  • *Step- and adopted parents, children, siblings (and half-siblings), grandparents and grandchildren are considered the same as biological parents, children, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren and may join the VFW Auxiliary under their VFW-eligible veteran.


Requirements

  • Membership Application  [popluate .pdf, print/email to auxiliary@friscovfw.org]
  • Proof of Eligibility (if Veteran is not a current VFW member of Post).  Proof includes documentation required for a Veteran to join VFW such as DD214, authorized Campaign Medal Orders, etc.
  • Other: $25 Annual Membership or One-time Life Membership (noted on application by age).
